Head Varsity Coach
Coach Cody Sarensen joins Archbishop Carroll High School for his first year, bringing 15 years of coaching experience, including his 9th as a varsity coach, to the program. As the head coach at Springfield Catholic Central High School from 2016-2019, he led his teams to two conference and two district championships. He also gained valuable collegiate experience as an assistant men's basketball coach at Wittenberg University, contributing to a regular season championship and a NCAA DIII Sweet 16 appearance. Prior to Carroll, he taught and coached at London High School for five years. Beyond his coaching role, Sarensen is an Intervention Specialist, entering his 12th year in the field. He and his wife, Maggie, have two boys and are expecting a daughter.
Varsity Assistant Coach
Tony Ricciuto is a highly respected figure in the Dayton area, known for his dedication across both the court and the classroom, boasting 40 years of coaching experience and an impressive 46 years in education. His remarkable coaching career includes a memorable stint as head coach at Springfield Catholic Central, where he secured 3 District and 2 Regional titles, was the state runner-up in 1995, and led his team to the Division IV State Championship in 1996 with All-American Jason Collier; he also dedicated 34 years to the Chaminade Julienne boys basketball program, contributing to four state tournament trips. Off the court, Ricciuto continues to share his passion for history at Chaminade Julienne, where he currently teaches Advanced Placement European History and Honors World Culture, while also cherishing his roles as a grandfather, a father to three grown children, and a devoted husband to his wife, Brenda, for 44 years.
High School Assistant Coach
Coach Sabien Doolittle brings a wealth of high-level experience to our team as a high school assistant coach. A former All-Conference and All-Ohio player from Springfield Catholic Central HS, he also played college basketball and is a current professional skill and development trainer who works with both professional and collegiate athletes. Coach Doolittle is the owner and founder of LSG Premier AAU Basketball, deeply committed to athlete development in the Springfield-Dayton area, all while diligently pursuing his studies to become a Registered Nurse (RN).
JV Head Coach
Junior Varsity Head Coach Parker Sullivan brings a wealth of experience to our program, boasting 13 years of coaching, including nine years as a varsity assistant or JV coach across six different schools such as Beavercreek and Greenon. His ability to elevate programs is evident: he helped guide Greenon to their first winning season in 17 years (2019-20) and assisted Madison-Plains in achieving a 10-win improvement (13-10) in 2016-17. Committed to continuous growth, Coach Sullivan is a member of the Radius Athletics mentoring program and has served as a camp coach for organizations like PGC Basketball and the University of Dayton. A graduate of Northwestern High School and Wright State University, he effectively merges his coaching knowledge with his 10 years of experience in education, where he is currently employed by Northwestern Local Schools. We are excited for the leadership and development he brings to our student-athletes.
Freshman Head Coach
Head Coach Phil Rivkin brings a depth of experience to the program, now entering his fifth year at Carroll High School. After three successful seasons as a Junior Varsity Assistant Coach, he is heading into his second year leading the freshman squad. Prior to his time with Carroll, Coach Rivkin spent five years sharpening his coaching skills as an assistant with the Dayton Metro AAU program. Off the court, his professional life as a Mechanical Designer—building custom aluminum furnaces for a local company—reflects the same focus and technical precision he instills in his players. We are thrilled to have his expertise guiding our freshmen.
